JFY Inverter Error Codes
JFY Inverter Error Codes
If your JFY inverter (also branded as 5 Star Energy) is showing a fault or has shut down, you're likely seeing one of many JFY inverter error codes. These messages are designed to alert you to specific issues—ranging from grid problems and internal hardware faults to insulation errors and overvoltage warnings.
Need an Electrician or Solar Specialist in Brisbane or Redlands?
Whether you're seeing W01 No Grid, E02 Leak Error, or E13 DC Sensor Fault, it's important to understand what each code means so you can take the right steps toward a fix. We've listed all known JFY inverter fault codes below—organised by category—so you can quickly identify and act on any problem.

No Display on LCD or LED
- Cause: No power or poor PV input connection.
- Solution: Check PV input terminals and DC isolator. If there's still no display, your inverter may require servicing.
JFY Inverter Warning Codes (W-Series)
W01 – No Grid
Grid is not detected by the inverter.
Solution: Check AC isolator, grid wiring, and main switchboard connections. Contact your installer if unresolved.
W02 – Vin Over Voltage
PV input voltage exceeds the inverter’s rated capacity.
Solution: Check the Voc (open circuit voltage) of the panel string. Disconnect immediately and consult an expert.
JFY Inverter Error Codes (E-Series)
E01 – Isolation Error
Insulation resistance between PV+ and PV- is too low.
Solution: Disconnect the PV array and test impedance. Check for damaged cables or moisture in connections.
E02 – Leak Error
Leakage current too high—possible ground fault.
Solution: Turn off PV input and inspect system insulation and AC wiring. Requires GFCI inspection.
E03 – Grid Fault
Grid voltage or frequency is outside of safe operating limits.
Solution: Check the utility supply. This may be a temporary grid issue or indicate a wiring fault.
JFY System Fault Messages
Auto Test Failed
Inverter did not pass its automatic internal diagnostic test.
Solution: Restart inverter. If fault returns, the unit may require firmware update or servicing.
(Also see W01, W02, E01, E02, and E03 above—these repeat under both categories depending on context.)
JFY Inverter Internal Faults
E04 – Coherence Error
Master and slave processors have inconsistent data.
Solution: Requires inverter shutdown and restart. If error persists, contact a technician.
E05 – Over Temperature
Inverter internal temperature too high.
Solution: Ensure inverter is shaded, clean, and well-ventilated. If conditions are fine and error persists, service is required.
E06 – Relay Failure
Internal relay is not operating correctly.
Solution: Safety risk—disconnect system and request immediate service.
E07 – DC Injection Failure
Excessive DC being pushed into AC grid.
Solution: Shut down inverter and contact a licensed solar electrician.
E08 – EEPROM Failure
Internal memory malfunction.
Solution: Can affect inverter settings. Restart the unit. If unresolved, EEPROM may need replacement.
E09 – Communication Failure
Inverter cannot communicate internally between control boards.
Solution: Restart inverter. If issue continues, it may need board repair or firmware reflash.
E10 – DC Bus Over Voltage
The internal DC bus voltage is too high.
Solution: Check PV input array sizing. May indicate capacitor damage.
E11 – DC Bus Under Voltage
DC bus voltage too low for safe operation.
Solution: Could point to a faulty DC capacitor or insufficient input voltage.
E12 – VRef Error
The 2.5V reference voltage has failed.
Solution: Internal power regulation fault—requires service.
E13 – DC Sensor Fault
DC current sensor malfunction.
Solution: This impacts safety and monitoring accuracy. Needs inspection.
E14 – GFCI Failure
Ground fault current interrupter failure.
Solution: The GFCI device is damaged or faulty. Immediate servicing required.
